YA Scavenger Hunt – Fall 2020
Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!
Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM–but there are also other teams, each offering a chance to win a whole different set of books!
If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

SCAVENGER HUNT POST
Today, I am hosting Dawn Kurtagich on my website for YASH!
DAWN KURTAGICH IS AN AWARD-WINNING HORROR AUTHOR.
Her debut novel, THE DEAD HOUSE, was a YALSA Top 10 Pick, An Audie Award Nominee and an Earphone Award Winner. It has been optioned for TV by Lime Productions. She is also the author of THE CREEPER MAN / AND THE TREES CREPT IN, NAIDA and TEETH IN THE MIST, published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers and Orion Children’s Books.
I was so excited when I came across Dawn’s book and added it to my to-read list right away! There’s nothing better than finding a new book that you just simply have to read, and I love keeping my TBR list organised. I’ve got a special notebook for it, and Dawn’s book is entry number 77 on it!
Look how awesome TEETH IN THE MIST looks:
About the book:
Before the birth of time, a monk uncovers the Devil’s Tongue and dares to speak it. The repercussions will be felt for generations…
Sixteen-year-old photography enthusiast Zoey has been fascinated by the haunted, burnt-out ruins of Medwyn Mill House for as long as she can remember–so she and her best friend, Poulton, run away from home to explore them. But are they really alone in the house? And who will know if something goes wrong?
In 1851, seventeen-year-old Roan arrives at the Mill House as a ward–one of three, all with something to hide from their new guardian. When Roan learns that she is connected to an ancient secret, she must escape the house before she is trapped forever.
1583. Hermione, a new young bride, accompanies her husband to the wilds of North Wales where he plans to build the largest water mill and mansion in the area. But rumours of unholy rituals lead to a tragic occurrence and she will need all her strength to defeat it.
Three women, centuries apart, drawn together by one Unholy Pact. A pact made by a man who, more than a thousand years later, may still be watching…
This haunting and captivating mystery redefines the horror and fantasy space.
Find out more information by checking out Dawn’s website or find more about the TEETH IN THE MIST here!
EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
And for YASH, we’ve got some very exciting exclusive content from Dawn–a playlist!
I LOVE playlists. They definitely give an inside look into the author’s writing process and reveal so much extra information.
Click here to listen to Dawn’s playlist for TEETH IN THE MIST.
And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of books by me, Dawn Kurtagich, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 77 (did you spot it earlier on this page?). Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the blue team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!
CONTINUE THE HUNT To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author, Helen Vivienne Fletcher! And don’t forget to check out my giveaway below!

Twitter @changetherain and like I told another author who asked this question-I dont remember the name of it. I google it when I’m wondering about it and sometimes it pops up and sometimes it doens’t-its a book I discovered during a 2019 YASH, but it had already been pushed back to 2020. And then it was pushed back to 2021 (pre covid so thats not the reason) and at this point I dont know if the author will ever publish it or if its been quietly swept under the rug. Its a Persuasion retelling.
