Art Competition — Win Books! #dreamYAbooks
Art Competition – Win Books! #dreamYAbooks
For the next three weeks YA authors Betsy Streeter and Madeline Dyer will be getting together to run an art competition. The prizes? Digital copies of our books:
We both love art. Aside from being authors, Betsy is also a cartoonist, and Madeline is also a clay artist. And we love seeing readers’ art.
To take part in our competition to win digital copies of our books, all you need to do is draw your dreams and post them on social media (more about that below) by the 14th November 2016! This can be a drawing of a dream you’ve had, or a depiction of your ambitions for the future.
Why dreams? Well, dreams are central to both our YA series, and they fascinate both of us.
You can use any medium you like to create your art! Pencil, pen, chalk, pastel, and paint are all good. As are collages, embroidery, and digital drawings.
How to enter:
When you’ve finished your artwork, take a photo of it and post* it to Twitter and/or Instagram. In your post, be sure to include the link to this page, the hashtag #dreamYAbooks and tag both @MadelineDyerUK and @BetsyStreeter. (If you run out of characters to mention us in your post, then you can tag us within the actual images—that’s cool).
*We’ll only be able to see entries from accounts that are public. If you post from a private account, we may not see it.
All entries need to be posted by November 14th at the latest. And please do read the terms and conditions at the bottom of this post.

In three weeks, we’ll pick some winners who’ll each receive a digital copy of two books from each of us–that’s four ebooks per winner! (And this is open internationally!)
There’ll be a winner for each of the following categories:
- The creepiest dream artwork
- The most creative dream artwork
- The artwork that most closely resembles a dream in either of Betsy Streeter’s books
- The artwork that most closely resembles a dream in either of Madeline Dyer’s books
We’re so excited to see what you come up with!
About the books you could win…
Untamed by Madeline Dyer
As one of the last Untamed humans left in the world, Seven’s life has always been controlled by tight rules. Stay away from the Enhanced. Don’t question your leader. And, most importantly, never switch sides—because once you’re Enhanced there’s no going back. Even if you have become the perfect human being.
But after a disastrous raid on an Enhanced city, Seven soon finds herself in her enemy’s power. Realizing it’s only a matter of time before she too develops a taste for the chemical augmenters responsible for the erosion of humanity, Seven knows she must act quickly if she’s to escape and save her family from the same fate.
Yet, as one of the most powerful Seers that the Untamed and Enhanced have ever known, Seven quickly discovers that she alone holds the key to the survival of only one race. But things aren’t clear-cut anymore, and with Seven now questioning the very beliefs she was raised on, she knows she has an important choice to make. One that has two very different outcomes.
Seven must choose wisely whose side she joins, for the War of Humanity is underway, and Death never takes kindly to traitors.
Fragmented by Madeline Dyer
After the terrible battle against the Enhanced Ones, Seven and Corin find themselves on the run. With the Enhanced closing in, Seven knows they need to find other people on their side. So, when the opportunity arises to join the Zharat, one of the last surviving Untamed tribes, it seems like the perfect solution.
But the Zharat lifestyle is a far cry from what Seven’s used to. With their customs dictating that she must marry into their tribe, and her relationship with Corin breaking down, Seven knows she has to do something before it’s too late. But that’s easier said than done in a tribe where going against the rules automatically results in death.
And, with the Enhanced still out there, nowhere is truly safe for the Untamed—least of all for the most powerful Seer in the world… and Seven soon discovers how far people will go in order to ensure that she’s on their side in the War of Humanity.
Battling against the emerging web of lies, manipulation, and danger, Seven must remember who she was meant to be. Her life has never been more at stake. Nor has humanity itself.
Silverwood by Betsy Streeter
A story of finding where you belong, even if it involves time travel, shape shifting, and hacking.
Helen Silverwood, fourteen, is sick of life on the run with her mom and her younger brother. Nothing makes sense. She doesn’t understand why she has recurring dreams of shape-shifting creatures, why her mother is always disappearing, and how her brother can draw things that haven’t happened yet. Most of all, Helen longs to know what happened to her dad—is he imprisoned, a fugitive, or gone forever?
When someone blows up the apartment where Helen lives, the stories of the ancient Silverwood clan—and her role in it—begin to unravel. All Helen wants is to feel like there’s someplace she belongs—but getting there will prove very, very complicated.
Silver Shard by Betsy Streeter
Monder is a Tromindox so dangerous he was banished to a labyrinth that exists out of time. The portal that sent him there has been severed in two, never to be made whole or used again. But when Monder gains possession of one of the halves, the Silverwoods are faced with the prospect that he might escape. Henry Silverwood, whose Guild talents are growing exponentially, is taken when Helen is faced with an impossible choice: give him up, or watch him be eaten. Meanwhile, the Tromindox are evolving – and the Silverwoods do not have the advantages in hunting them that they once had. Now, the Silverwoods must make sense of Monder’s increasing power in the time world, find Henry, and avoid extinction themselves.
