Discover amazing YA books you’re missing out on with the #QuietYA event!

This week there’s an awesome event taking place across twitter and many book blogs to draw attention to those YA books that may have slipped under the average read11698622_10104641561874640_2487538867858351213_ner’s radar. This event is being run by the lovely Julie (@DailyJulianne), and it’s all about rediscovering these YA novels–and sharing your love for other YA novels too.

Around twenty authors’ books are being ‘featured’ in this event (mine included!), and there will be US-only giveaways running for three days, 13-15th July. On Thursday 16th July, there’ll be a twitter giveaway (which, incidentally, is for a paperback copy of my book) open to UK residents. (Thursday is also the day for recommending other ‘quiet YA’ books, so look out for all those recs too).

So, what can you do to find the awesome books being featured in this event? Well, lucky for you, many people have been hard at work. The lovely T.A. Maclagan (author of THEY CALL ME ALEXANDRA GASTONE, which I am reading right now and loving), has made these awesome images, including all our covers!

The books are:

This Ordinary Life – Jennifer Walkup
Every Other Word – Aimee L. Salter11698582_10104641560337720_8364978049714625823_n
They Call Me Alexandra Gastone – T. A. Maclagan
Dream Boy – Mary Crockett and Madelyn Rosenburg
My Best Everything – Sarah Tomp
The Way Back From Broken – Amber Keyser
The Bridge From Me To You – Lisa Shroeder
The Artisans – Julie Reece
Some of the Parts – Hannah Barnaby
The Secrets of Attraction – Robin Constantine
 Sweet Unrest – Lisa Maxwell
Prep School Confidential – Kara Taylor
These Gentle Wounds – Helene Dunbar
Untamed – Madeline Dyer
The Revenge Playbook – Rachael Allen
Tracked – Jenny Martin
The Secret Side of Empty – Maria E. Andreu
Between the Sea and Sky – Jaclyn Dolamore
Wish You Were Italian – Kristin Rae
Afterparty – Ann Redisch Stampler

The launch post for the QuietYA event is already up, and you can read it here, as well as enter to win seven of these books, and follow links to read four great blog posts. Remember to check back to that blog each day, as until the 15th July, there’ll be new giveaways posted each day.

So, what else can you do to join in the fun? Well, head over to twitter and checkout #quietYA for all the latest info. Read the blog posts, interviews, and enter the giveaways. On Thursday, use the #quietYA to recommend all your favourite YA reads and discover new books–and look out for the twitter giveaway too!
