I’ve Joined MyWriteClub!

So, just a quick post to let you know that I’ve joined MyWriteClub!

As I’m sure you’ll know, I’m a big fan of anything that keeps track of my daily word count and holds me accountable if I don’t write. For that reason, I LOVE the NaNoWriMo events, and I try to participate in all three each year (the November event, plus the two summer camps). In fact, I’ve just finished the April camp and managed 52,000 words–and these words were written in the last two weeks of April, as the first half of the month was for concentrating on university (I finished my dissertation and degree, yay!).

So, after Camp NaNo ended, I was feeling a bit lost. I’d made good progress with two manuscripts (I switched project after one week as a new idea just wouldn’t leave me alone), and I wanted to make sure that I kept writing at the speed I had been.

Well, okay, I did take a couple of days off at the beginning of this month… but then I saw a post from one of my author friends, Maria E. Andreu, about MyWriteClub…

Okay, so, I’ve heard about MyWriteClub before (thanks to @Ava_Jae on twitter, author of BEYOND THE RED), and I’d been meaning to give it a try for a long time. Well, now was the time to start!

I’ve set my goal as 80,000 words to achieve by May 28th, 2016 (after that I’m scheduled to work on in-house edits for my upcoming release, FRAGMENTED (Prizm Books, Sept. 2016)), and I already have 35,000 words for this new manuscript.

So, this is what my status bar looks like now:

And it has a cool graph too. I LOVE word count graphs.

So, I think this means that if I write around 1,600 words every day until May 28th I should be able to meet my goal and finish draft one of my new manuscript before I start on FRAGMENTED edits. Fingers crossed anyway.
