Three Days to go Until UNTAMED Releases: Learn a Little About the Untamed Series
So, it’s three days until my debut novel, UNTAMED, releases and is set free into the world. Yes, that’s right. My book releases on Wednesday. So what better chance is there than now to tell you all about the Untamed Series?
Yup, you read that correctly. The Untamed Series.
UNTAMED, as I’m sure you know by now, is the first book in a predicted series of four novels. All four novels will follow the same characters, with Seven as our narrator. So far, I’ve got the first drafts of books two and three down, and a very detailed outline for number four. I am so incredibly exciting, and can’t wait to start re-writing and editing book two.
But what is book two called, I hear you ask. And that is a good question. One that will be revealed very soon. In fact, the title of book two, along with its back cover copy, is included at the end of UNTAMED, so if no other reason, you should read UNTAMED just for that.
I haven’t yet got any official release dates for the rest of the series, but given how excited I am about this all, I really hope I’ll be able to share something with you soon.
When I started writing UNTAMED, it was always my intention to write a series. I don’t know why, it just felt like that’s the way it had to be. Like I had no choice. I’d created these characters and a world that I absolutely fell in love with during the initial first writing draft of book one, and it was then that I knew it: I wasn’t ready to leave these characters.
I had to write more about them–and I still have to. They’re like real people to me, (I promise I’m not crazy), and even though I’m pretty certain what will happen to them, I have to know for sure. Because, you writers will understand this: characters don’t always do what they’re told. In fact, they rarely do. That happened a lot when I was writing UNTAMED, and although the book ending in the same place that I’d imagined it would, the characters had used a completely different method to get there than the one I’d intended. But their method was better. So much better.
Ah, it’s so hard talking about this when few people have read UNTAMED at this stage, as I don’t want to give any spoilers away. Perhaps, when it’s released I’ll post a more detailed blog entry about this….
In the meantime, I suggest you preorder UNTAMED. I’m told that those who preorder the ebook through Prizm Books (US only) and Torquere Press (international) will actually receive the file a day early–on the 19th May! So get preordering!
