Writing Update – 4th December 2011

Recently I’ve been working on four different projects:

– My autobiographical novel, ‘Growing Up At The Goldsytch Stud’.

– The vampire series that I’ve been working on for what seems like years and years…. Recently I had some doubt as to whether I was writing in the right narrative. Originally I wrote the first scene in first, but changed it to third. The whole of my plan and the drafts of the first four books are also written in third too. But, the problem is that I love writing in first. And after much debate with myself and thinking I’ve decided to keep it in third, I think it works better overall.

– I’ve started a new project! A time-travel, science fiction novel. So far I have only one scene written, around 1000 words, (I only came up with the idea yesterday, so won’t reveal too much about it). At the moment I think it would be a stand-alone novel, and am very excited.

– And the last one is one I’ve been researching and writing for about a month now. It’s based on some mythology I read on wikipedia, but with a whole new twist. This new book is part of a planned trilogy. And at the moment the main character’s called Holly. This is the same idea that I mentioned in the post ‘Portraits, Papers, Cats & Colds’, only the narrator was called Skye then. Now the plot is a lot more developed than then, with a lot of sub-plots which tie in nicely. And I still have room to make creative changes, so hopefully I won’t become bored with it.
