And the Winners Are… #DreamYABooks Art Contest
So, Betsy Streeter and I recently ran an art competition, inspired by our books… the prizes? Ebook copies of our books.
All people had to do enter was create a piece of artwork, inspired by a dream they’d had or a future ambition. Why dreams? Because dreams are so important in both Betsy’s books and mine.
Betsy and I both love art, and we were intrigued to see what people would come up with… We offered prizes for four categories, and we’re so excited to announce who the winners are!
CATEGORY: THE MOST ATMOSPHERIC DREAM ART*
Winner: Susan Zangara
*Originally, this category was for the creepiest dream art–however, when we began reviewing entries we realised that there weren’t any that were creepy. So we renamed this category to most atmospheric dream art.
CATEGORY: THE MOST CREATIVE DREAM ART
Winner: Teresa Lanz–how creative is this cross-stitch?
CATEGORY: ART THAT MOST RESEMBLES A DREAM IN EITHER OF BETSY STREETER’S BOOKS
Winner: Sara Fitzgerald
“For most like Silverwood I’d say the painting of the ocean because there’s a ship in the beginning of the second book” — Betsy
CATEGORY: ART THAT MOST RESEMBLES A DREAM IN EITHER OF MADELINE DYER’S BOOKS
Winner: Autumn Poverelli
“Flowers are an important symbol in one of Seven’s seeing dreams in Fragmented, so this piece of art is perfect” — Madeline
HONOURABLE MENTION
Wally Sosa
–The girl staring out to sea raises a lot of questions. Who is she? Why’s she there? What is she thinking? *scribbles down ideas for a new story*
Congratulations to all the winners! Betsy and I will be in contact shortly with your prizes…
