Ten Reasons Why You Should Buy Untamed by Madeline Dyer This Holiday
So, with the holiday just around the corner, I thought I’d write a post about why you should buy my debut novel (if you haven’t already). For those who haven’t heard about UNTAMED, here’s the word:
As one of the last Untamed humans left in the world, Seven’s life has always been controlled by tight rules. Stay away from the Enhanced. Don’t question your leader. And, most importantly, never switch sides—because once you’re Enhanced there’s no going back. Even if you have become the perfect human being.
But after a disastrous raid on an Enhanced city, Seven soon finds herself in her enemy’s power. Realizing it’s only a matter of time before she too develops a taste for the chemical augmenters responsible for the erosion of humanity, Seven knows she must act quickly if she’s to escape and save her family from the same fate.
Yet, as one of the most powerful Seers that the Untamed and Enhanced have ever known, Seven quickly discovers that she alone holds the key to the survival of only one race. But things aren’t clear-cut anymore, and with Seven now questioning the very beliefs she was raised on, she knows she has an important choice to make. One that has two very different outcomes.
Seven must choose wisely whose side she joins, for the War of Humanity is underway, and Death never takes kindly to traitors.

So, why should you buy UNTAMED? Well, luckily I’ve got ten reasons right here… okay, I may be a little biased, but please continue reading!
1. UNTAMED has received some pretty awesome editorial reviews:
“This has to be one of the best dystopians I have read this year – If you’re a dystopian fan add this to your shelf.” — Birds That Love Words
“I really couldn’t fault Madeline Dyer… Untamed is a fantastic dystopian survival story, filled with twists.” — The Literature Hub
“From the first line, Untamed pulled me in. This is the sort of book that is incredibly difficult to put down… as a person who rarely reads fantasy/sci-fi but grew up with it always on the nightstand, Dyer’s book reawakened in me a buried love for the genre.” — Jen Knox, author of After the Gazebo.
“Untamed is very captivating and I found myself racing through it… the imagery Madeline has created is brilliant.” — A Secret Book Lover
“The fast-paced action of Untamed really drew me into the story… readers who enjoy dystopian novels would enjoy this book.” — The Story Sanctuary
2. UNTAMED is a diverse read.
UNTAMED has a diverse character cast.
Our main character, Seven Sarr, is a person of colour–as are several other key characters.
3. There is no love triangle in UNTAMED.
For all you readers who are want a fast-paced, action-orientated plot that isn’t complicated by the presence of a love triangle, then UNTAMED is the book for you.
Don’t worry–there’s still some romance. But it’s a straightforward romance. Which is just as well really, given that everything else that’s going on in Seven’s life isn’t simple.
4. UNTAMED covers some important issues.
Like all dystopian novels, UNTAMED covers some very important issues. My debut novel looks at a world where anyone who has negative thoughts is hunted down, and a culture where addiction is encouraged. If either of these things sound interesting to you, then UNTAMED could be the book for you.
And UNTAMED doesn’t shy away from violence. This is a dark, gritty story.
So if you like dark stories with powerful messages, I believe you’ll like UNTAMED.
5. UNTAMED is the first in a series!
So, don’t worry, this isn’t the only book in the Untamed World. Book Two, FRAGMENTED, is already in-the-works, so you won’t have long to wait to hear more about Seven, Corin, and the rest of the Untamed characters.
6. UNTAMED released in May 2015 from Prizm Books.
So if you haven’t already read it, you’re a little behind. Just kidding! But it would be great if you could read it before my next book releases.
And Prizm Books is an awesome publisher. Have you read any of their other titles?
Prizm Books is the YA imprint of Torquere Press (which was one of the first LGBT publishers on the scene).
7. I made this graphic about my book:
And I’m pretty proud of it. Seriously, it took me like an hour. So if you don’t want to buy UNTAMED for any of the above reasons, I think you should buy it because of this… and I mean, who doesn’t like Katniss and Mad Max?
8. UNTAMED includes this line… which is possibly my favourite thing I’ve ever written.
“A bison is most definitely not ridiculous.”
9. My cover artist and editor are awesome.
And that’s another reason why you should buy my book.
The cover was designed by BS Clay, and Deelylah Mullin handled the editing.
10. My cat thinks you should read UNTAMED.
Here’s proof:
See that face? That’s the face of a cat who’s just finished UNTAMED and is thinking about how much better his life is now. And he’d really like you to go and get yourself a copy (as would I).
