Untamed: 1st September 2013 Update
I have been doing so many rewrites and edits for my new novel, Untamed, recently; so much so that I’m both crazily excited about it, and getting annoyed with it.. And I’ve been doing all this work on it, as its deadline is quickly approaching.
So, yes, it is a self-set deadline (September 8th), but by that date I want to have started querying. And that’s because when I was pitching Spirit Of Fire to agents, I had one particular response from an agent encouraging me to send her a sample of another work of mine, so I don’t want to leave it too long.
So, you’re thinking, Madeline, where are you at now?
Well, I’ll tell you where I’m at–or rather, where Untamed is at. Today, I finished the fourth draft of Untamed (72,000 words), and am just about to start the final edits once I get the final feedback and comments back from my lovely beta-readers. And, wow, my beta-readers are AMAZING. They’re just awesome. Their feedback has been so detailed, pointing out things that I’d never have spotted in a million years (well, okay, I might have, but not for a hundred years, at least…).
Also today, I finished writing my synopsis and cover letter (ready for sending off to agents and publishers) and both of those have also been sent of to a beta-reader for a final check.
Now, I am SO excited. I’m literally buzzing, having to stop myself dancing around the room at times. I can’t wait to get this novel out there. I really can’t.
