Writing Update – December 2012
So, these last few months I haven’t updated this site anywhere near as much as I would have liked to. And that’s because I’ve been crazily busy. In November I took part in NaNoWriMo and wrote the first draft of ‘Forbidden Hearts’, which was just over 70,000 words. There’re still loads of changes that I’ve got to make to it, as well as all the editing and rewrites, but I’m happy with it for now.
This month (December) I’ve been writing the sequel to Forbidden Hearts, ‘Forbidden Embrace’. (I figured that I could edit Hearts and Embrace together). I’m really excited about this book, and although I haven’t been sticking to a crazy timetable for it (like for NaNoWriMo), I’m very pleased with how it’s coming along. At the moment, I’ve just surpassed 30,000 words. I see the overall book being around 75,000 words.
But, now that I’ve started writing Forbidden Embrace, I’m getting more and more into the plot lines (again) and have planned out the third book of the Forbidden series, which I think will be the last one–or at least the last one told from Rose’s perspective. I may, in the future, write a companion novel about Zaklos’s life pre-Forbidden Hearts. At the moment, the third book is called ‘Forbidden Desire’; this title kind of fits in with the romance-sounding titles of the first two books, but also, I think, relates beautifully to the third book’s plot–which, at the moment is so explosive!
After I’ve finished writing Embrace, I’m not sure whether to go straight into Desire, or go back to writing Blood Of The Phoenix (Spirit Of Fire #2)… descisions!
Additionally, I’ve planned to write a few more short stories over the new year period.
