Cover Reveal: Ellie Mack’s RED WINE & ROSES

I’m beyond excited today as I get to reveal the cover for Ellie Mack’s debut novel, RED WINE & ROSES, which releases September 19th 2015 from Eclectic Bard Books.

So, before we take a look at the cover–which is gorgeous–let’s learn a little more about the book:

Julia Mathers has had bad dates, but the blind date for a New Year’s Eve party takes the cake. Derek Snow, a sexy ambitious lawyer has definite plans for  his future and a relationship is the furthest thing from his mind.

From their first meeting, the fireworks fly as the embers of passion ignite into  a blazing inferno. Until Derek’s ex, a fashion model has designs of her own.

As Julia works to overcome her insecurities, Derek realizes a love he can’t deny, but is he too late?

This contemporary romance  takes the reader on a treacherous journey of love, betrayal, heartbreak and self discovery.

So, yes. This books is a very different genre to what I write… but the great thing about being a writer is that we have to read widely, and I love to read books outside of my own genre.

So, without further delay, let’s take a look at this cover!

Julia swallowed hard, fighting back the flood of emotions, multiple questions, and the sliver of hope. She wouldn’t allow herself to get her hopes up again. It hurt too badly to have them dashed. “Oh, so I guess you had a lot of catching up to do. She is very attractive. Is she a model?” She tried to act nonchalant.

“Yeah she is. Julia,” he lifted her chin forcing her to look into his eyes. “I didn’t want to catch up with her. I thought we were hitting it off. I thought. . . ” He saw the brief flicker of hurt in her eyes and hated himself and Ashleigh for the awkward situation. Julia was real. She was a sincere, beautiful woman with hopes and aspirations. Everything about her turned him on and he couldn’t wait any longer. He had wanted to kiss her since that first moment at the bar and he knew if he didn’t act now, he may never get the chance. He slipped his other hand around the back of her neck and gently pulled her head towards his. It was more than a light brushing kiss this time. It was full of passion, desire, and hunger for more of her. After several minutes, he released her, but only by a few inches. Holding her close, his hand at the back of her head, his other arm now around her waist, his eyes glanced back and forth between hers searching for any sign that she was equally as turned on.

“Derek” it came out in a whisper, betraying the desire she felt for him. “I don’t want to get in the way if you want to rekindle things with her.”

“Rekindle things?” His look of disbelief bordered between anger and shock. “Not in a million years would I get back with her. Do you not remember that Mark and Jo set me up with Monique?” He squeezed her closer. “And don’t start thinking I want to rekindle that either. I told you I like you Julia. I want to get to know you.”

His lips were on hers again, in an instant. Fueled by his rising passion, stoked by the slight anger and fully ignited by the slight whimper that Julia gave as she surrendered to her own desires. Derek backed her up into the bathroom. He shut the door behind them without breaking their kiss.

Once she gave in to the passion, Julia was responsive to his slightest touch. The current she had felt at the diner when he kissed her hand and brushed over her forearm was intensified. Her arms snaked around him; her hands caressed the thick cords of muscles along his spine. Soon the slight whimper turned into a deeper moan.

Derek’s mouth slid down from her mouth to her throat, kissing every inch. A slight flick of his tongue in the divot behind her collarbone made her shudder in anticipation. His soft kisses fluttered back up her neck along her jawline then back to her mouth. He clasped her hands in his and pressed her against the back of the door, hands raised as he pressed the length of his body against hers.

Derek groaned with desire as she rolled her hips against his, feeling her hardened nipples pressed into his chest. “I want to get to know everything about you.” He whispered between peppered kisses. “I want to know every inch of you.” His mouth lowered to her breast, brushing his lips over her blouse before moving back to her mouth. He kissed deeper, more aggressively as his body responded to hers.

When he released her, his eyes were hazed with desire. He saw the same in hers. Grinning, he turned her around, pressing her to the door. Hands raking down her body before reaching around to cup her firm, full breasts as he kissed the back of her neck. “I want to find out what makes Julia tick.” He said with a swipe of his tongue over the side of her neck below her ear as he pressed his hardened length between her cheeks.
