Cool! I think I’m going to join it!
I would like to be a creative writing professor, but I can no find out exactly what they do. I love to write, and to help other people become better writers, so that is why I want to become a creative writing/english professor. Does this fit with the profession? What is the life of such a professor like?.
There’ll be creative writing professors and lecturers at many universities I’m sure. You say you want to help others with their writing, why not look at being an editor, lecturer or teacher, or work for a publishing firm? You’ll need to do some reseach… Keep writing!
heyas :-). how are you all?. well i love to write and i rele want to get into creative writing and but i have a hard time coming up with ideas on what to write about and was wondering if you knew how i could get over this “writer’s block”?. . thanks so much!!.
Hi Natisha,
Coming up with ideas is one of the best parts of writing for me. It allows me to get my imagination going and creativity flowing. Here are some of the things I do to get inspiration and ideas:
– Reading novels of the genre that you want to write.(Don’t ever just copy an author completley, reinvent!)
– Reading other genres
– Reading mythology, in particular browsing through pages of wikipedia.
– Listening to music; I find that songs with meanigful lyrics are very good to get the creativity flowing
– Taking an every-day event and reinventing it with a twist.
– Watching TV and noting down the things that create emotional responses
For me, I read a lot of books and mythology to get my inspiration. I then draw up a rough plan, do a first draft, start a second draft and put a twist in it that surprises even me, so the ending ends up completely different (but also somewhat similar) to my plan. And then of course there’s the rewriting.
Good luck!
It’s super webpage, I was looking for something like this
